A Look at 2020 So Far…

The year 2020 will be seared into our memories forever.  Seattle-area real estate sales were off to a blazing start and then our lives took a dramatic turn with the declaration of a pandemic and the Stay Home, Stay Healthy order. I know all of you will have stories to tell about how these past four months have changed and challenged you.

Surprisingly, after a pause in late March and early April, the market showed great resilience in the single family homes category and currently multiple offers are a frequent happening in many neighborhoods and price ranges due to high demand, low inventory and amazing interest rates.  The condominium market has seen more volitle swings with the more recent protests adding a multiplier effect on the slowdown of condos in downtown Seattle and other in-city neighborhoods.

So many factors including stock market volatility, employment changes, trade war fears, elections, home schooling and buyer and seller’s emotional responses to all of the above is making for an unpredictable year so far.

A Look Back at 2019

As we prepare to start a new decade, I wish to acknowledge and thank all of my wonderful clients and friends for your continuous stream of business, referrals, friendship and support. I am honored to help my clients with such important transitions in their life.

The 2019 real estate market delivered great variety from fast-paced, frenetic behavior to slow downs in some segments.  Multiple offers subsided in the fall and buyers seized opportunities not experienced in several years, particularly in the condominium market. Many factors including stock market volatility due to trade war fears, elections, and buyer’s emotional responses made it an interesting and busy year!  December market activity suggests that 2020 will be an upbeat and active market.

Hats, Scarves, Gloves and Socks Drive

Windermere is in its fourth season of helping #TackleHomelessness with the Seattle Seahawks!

Each year, as part of that campaign, Windermere hosts a “We’ve Got You Covered” winter drive for a local non-profit. This year, we are collecting warm winter gear for our new non-profit partner, Mary’s Place, an organization that provides safe, inclusive shelter and services to women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness.

We are asking for donations of NEW hats, scarves, gloves/mittens, and warm socks for all genders and sizes.

From October 14 through November 8, you can drop off donations at our Windermere Real Estate Midtown offices:

Green Lake – 7300 E. Green Lake Dr N

Lakeview – 1920 N 34th St

Pike/Pine – 1324 E Pike St

Or contact me and I’ll come by your home and pick them up!!

Once the drive is over, our friends at Gentle Giant Moving Company will once again generously donate their time and trucks to pick up the donations collected by our offices, to deliver to Mary’s Place.

  • InterConnection.org for recycling electronics

Items accepted for free: Computers, laptops, monitors, TV’s, cell phones, keyboards, mice, printers, power cables and speakers.
Items not accepted: appliances, DVDs & VHS, TVs 40″ or larger.
Some electronic items will be reused for unemployment and low-income individuals and families. The rest recycled through a partnership with InterConnection.org

A Look Back at 2018

The 2018 real estate market delivered fast-paced, frenetic behavior and outcomes in the first five months of the year and then we witnessed a slow down with inventory increasing, multiple offers subsiding and buyers seizing opportunities not experienced in several years. The trends were unpredictable due to many factors including interest rate and stock market volatility, political actions — local and federal — and buyer’s lack of confidence and emotional responses. It was an interesting and busy year!
